Meet Our Founder

My name is Damaris Hurtado. I am an Afro-Latina from Colombia, now living in New Jersey, a proud mother of two daughters, an aunt, and a former foster mother.

For most of my life, I have been surrounded by children, families, and stories that shaped my purpose. As a foster mother and community advocate, I witnessed firsthand how deeply children need to feel seen, protected, and valued — not just at home, but in the world around them.

For over two decades, I have worked in social services, advocacy, and program development, helping families navigate systems, access resources, and build stronger, self-determined lives. My academic background in administration, health systems, and business gave me tools — but it was my lived experience as a mother and caregiver that gave me my mission.

I am also a volunteer coach for my daughters’ track and field and volleyball teams, a CrossFit enthusiast, and the founder of H&P Fusion LLC, a Certified Minority & Women-Owned Business.

Goodvibra was born from both my professional work and my heart.

I saw how many boys with Afro-textured hair and melanin-rich skin were growing up without representation, guidance, or positive self-care education. I saw confidence being shaped by social pressure instead of pride, culture, and self-respect.

So, I decided to build something different.

That vision became The Black Crown Box — a grooming and confidence system designed specifically for young kings ages 11–17. Not just products in a box — but a daily reminder that caring for yourself is an act of love, discipline, and identity.

My purpose is deeply personal:

To help children — especially Afro-textured boys — grow up feeling confident, proud, and worthy of love.
To support families raising strong leaders.
To build a movement rooted in wellness, empowerment, and representation.

Because when children learn to care for themselves, they don’t just build routines — they build self-worth.

My roots in Colombia also shaped this mission.

Growing up, I saw how talent and hard work often go unnoticed — especially for people living with disabilities. When I had the opportunity to partner with an artisan in my home country who creates beautiful handmade pieces despite physical challenges, I knew Goodvibra had to be part of that story.

Supporting artisans with disabilities is not charity to me — it is dignity, opportunity, and representation. It is about creating real income, honoring craftsmanship, and giving families a chance to thrive through meaningful work.

Goodvibra’s social impact work allows me to bridge cultures, support my roots, and build empowerment beyond borders.
